This year's launch of the next-generation Civic Type R comes as Honda celebrates 50 years of the Civic, and 25 years of its iconic high-performance hatchback. For 2023, engineers have refined every aspect of the Civic Type R, making it the highest-performing edition to date. Design enhancements include a new rear diffuser, functional hood vent, and a sporty silhouette, all of which add style as well as aerodynamic benefits. Its new rear spoiler design and sleek roofline also contribute to its overall performance and its muscular appearance. The new Civic Type R delivers a unique blend of speed, handling, and everyday driving pleasure. The Honda Civic Type R goes from zero to 60 in just 4.9 seconds thanks to a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter V-Tech inline-four engine that cranks out 315 HP. The Civic Type R also stops as fast as it starts going from 60 mph to a complete stop in less than 40 yards. Dual axis, McPhearson strut front suspension combined with rigid multi-link rear suspension delivers exceptional handling and ride control. Honda's Adaptive Damper System minimizes roll and pitch to provide exceptional feedback. A choice of four distinct drive modes lets drivers fine-tune performance even further. The Type R's "Rev Match Control" feature keeps the engine and transmission in sync during downshifting and provides shorter and smoother throws. Other notable handling features include Limited Slip Differential, Electronic Power Steering, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. 

Technology

The 2023 Honda Civic Type R comes loaded with all of the latest technologies. Its class-leading infotainment system features Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and music streaming, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and nine-inch color touchscreen controls which allow for customizable feature settings and shortcuts. The standard Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System uses voice recognition for choosing destinations and also comes with Honda RealTime Traffic. A large 10.2-inch Driver Information Center Screen displays up-to-the-minute vehicle statistics like miles-to-empty, current speed, trip mileage, and important vehicle notifications and warnings. The standard Bose Premium Sound System comes with 12 speakers, (including a subwoofer), Wi-Fi Hotspot capability, and integrated satellite and HD radio. The Honda LogR data logger system lets drivers preview their driving habits right on their cell phones. Wireless Charging, Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation, and Radio Data System (RDS) round out some of the more notable tech found on the new Honda Civic Type R.
